A livery cab driver was robbed at knifepoint in Soundview — after being nice enough to make a pit stop at Kennedy Fried Chicken, cops said.
The suspect called for the cab service and asked to be picked up on Bruckner Boulevard near Rosedale Avenue at 1:40 a.m., Tuesday, according to police.
The rider asked to stop at the eatery on Storey and Rosedale avenues before going to his final destination on Trinity Avenue, cops said.
The 34-year-old driver made the stop, but when the car arrived at Trinity Avenue, the passenger claimed he had no cash and asked the driver to wait downstairs with his cellphone so he could get money, police added.
The passenger returned with a knife and demanded the hack’s cash instead, according to cops.
The thief made off with at least $220 and a white Samsung Galaxy cellphone, police said.
